Avenues

Day Supports offered by Elmira District Community Living will provide two base locations for individuals to meet, socialize and engage in a variety of activities in the Day Program locations in Elmira known hereafter as Avenues and Life Skills.

Activities will reflect the personal goals of the individuals, that provide a meaningful experience in or out of the programs as directed by the individual. The scope of the activities offered will include but are not limited to Adult Education, social and recreational activities, volunteer and employment opportunity that will prepare the person for an inclusive life in their community. Activities will maximize individual independence and afford the individual the ability to remain safe while participating in the community based activities and activities of daily living.

Life Skills Program

This program assists adults over the age of 18 with a intellectual disability to participate in a range of supports that meet their individual needs ranging from personal care, therapeutic, recreational and social needs. The focus of this service is to address quality of life issues, creating a lifestyle plan that ensures that each and every day has purpose and meaning.
