Thank you for submitting nominations for the first-ever Greg Bechard Award. We were truly astounded by the number of nominations and the care that was taken in describing “why” individuals are deserving of the award. We’ve known there is a fantastic group of employees at EDCL and this process really highlighted the care and compassion of our team.
To honour Greg’s many years of innovative and caring service, this award was initiated on his retirement by the Board of Directors. A directive was brought to our Management Team and the Client Advocacy Committee for input on criteria and guidelines of this annual award. It is a great pleasure to announce the 2022 winners of the Greg Bechard Award with a short summary of how peers see them.
- Charlotte Watt: Charlotte is known for lifting up her teams and going above and beyond when she sees it is needed. She is amazing to work with, focused on supporting her team however necessary, and always shows up with a positive attitude. Her willingness to help out and cover shifts (especially at the height of COVID) has not gone unnoticed by her peers. Charlotte cares deeply for the individuals she supports and for her team. This is apparent by how she shows up to work every day. We are so thankful to have you on the team. Congratulations Charlotte!
- Geri Reid: Geri is known for her dedication to the people we support and always giving 150% in her work. Her mentorship skills have helped others to grow in the organization. With Geri, the people we support are top of mind. She sets a great example for her peers by frequently asking others if they need help, by keeping hygiene top of mind, by strongly advocating for the people we support and by taking on additional tasks when needed. Geri is an asset to EDCL and we are very grateful for her dedication over the years. Thank you for all that you do Geri and congratulations!
